We've had 3 male cats in my family and they were all gentlemen. We've had 3 female cats, including the ones living with us now, and they're all fookin' crazy!!

Male cats tend to wander more, until they are fixed. Then they tend to be much calmer than females.

My male cat (desexed) is nuts! Maybe its just individual... mind you, he's still <1 yr old. Is it normal for male cats to have INCREDIBLY horrible smelling urine? Its unbearable...

in some ways they are more laid back - not quite so demanding of affection and laps, but are more aloof?

In my experience after a cat is neutered he is a much nicer cat than the females. The female seem to go through stages, like mood swings. Always bitching about something. I am not really trying to be funny. It is true. I am female so don't hit me.

I have two Maine Coon cats.One male,one female.They are both fairly calm cats,but between the two,the male is more skittish.

well... my boyfriend and i have three cats, 2 males and 1 female. All fixed. (the female is momma to one male) She is a very affectionate and loving cat, as is her little one....the other, however, is jumpy and always trying to enlist the other 2 into wrestling matches! I think he has ADHD due to his crazy-ness!

You know those wild crazy cats that you think must be possessed or something? The ones that race around the room, never touching the floor, all wall and drapes? Mine have all been males. I think males have better personalities and seem to attach more to people. Females tend to be more down to earth, a good companion but knows how to be just by herself.
