literally and figuratively, my friend.

Not at all. I read it with ease.
-
I wouldn't suggest swallowing it whole. Try it in chapters and verses first and if you tolerate it well try a little more when you're ready.
-
only if you try and eat both testaments at once. j/k
-
G'day Peterpam, Thank you for your question. Yes it is. That is why I prefer reading it. Regards

It's certainly hard to fathym sometimes, but the so is the entire concept of Infinity and Eternity... and without those things, the Bible wouldn't be true, but there must be these things, because everything on earth is finite, and thus had to be created.
-
Depends if you have the old school KJV that weighs a ton or one of those dinky Gideon New Testaments... I would suggest trying it bit by bit if the whole thing is too much... ;)
-
Not if you take it one bite at a time and masticate well...
-
not if you really want to learn what it says... you need to look at it as God telling us how we should live... It is a book that can answer every question you have. Sometimes it may take some time to find or understand what you are looking for but it is there.

"NOT" If you soak it in water 1st.

"If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." - Jesus in John 7:17 In other words, if you live the teachings of Christ, you will understand them better and know that they are of God. Here is the full context: http://scriptures.lds.org/en/john/7/17,27,51#17
-
try frying it in garlic butter and hot sauce
-
As a historical document? Impossible. As a novel with some good violence and porn - a bit wordy but the sex scenes are certainly more imaginative than most stuff on video. Ya gotta look for specialty fetish stuff to see girls screwing their father and all...
-
hard to digest too :P

No: 1) No: "Jordan Rubin says a diet based on the Bible and eating the way God intended saved him from an incurable illness" Source and further information: http://www.beliefnet.com/story/144/story_14464_1.html 2) no one knows: "eating the Bible will light up your nerves until the neon lasso of the motel flickers and dies out once and for all." "No one can tell you what eating the Bible will mean because no one knows; the moment of consumption will be transformed into shock waves of revelation or you’ll be reduced to sickness in the bathroom, bent over and retching into the toilet. Either way you’ll have to eat the Bible page by page, because there’s no one you can talk to anymore so you must converse with God by making Him a part of your flesh. If that means the words burn through your skin and melt away your bones and ligaments, so much the better (though the pain of it will be excruciating)." Source and further information: "Eating the Bible" http://www.bu.edu/agni/fiction/online/2004/vivian.html 3) "Just like in real life, eating will cause you to gain weight in Bible Buffet." Source and further information: http://www.pcurzi.net/index.php/Reviews/Bible-Buffet-Religious-Eating-for-the-Whole-Family.html 4) and yes, the Bible can sometimes be somewhat hard to swallow. Especially if you are not gullible: "But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (Heb 5:14) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. (Acts 17:11)" "A child can swallow harmful things by accident if he thinks they are good - pills, bleach in a lemonade bottle, small toys and so on. That is because a baby is driven by a desire for quick and easy gratification of his senses. And he doesn’t know how to distinguish between good and bad. Because he's always been fed by others, and never chosen his own food, he hasn't learned to discriminate between good and bad. If it looks bright and edible - in it goes. If it feels good in the mouth - he'll swallow. Immature believers are also a push-over for exciting new revelations, ear-tickling things, gossip, the latest controversy, scandal - anything lovely and tasty. And they don’t discriminate, it all goes down the same way - if it's dressed up to look interesting and palatable, the immature believer will swallow it. False teachers depend on this level of immaturity because without it they would never be able to lead so many Christians astray. These deceivers say, “here - take this dose of Toronto, it's fine. It's in the Bible, believe me”. And spiritual babies swallow what they are given with hardly a thought." "Adults discriminate carefully, finding out if something is good or bad for them. They use refined senses - smell, taste, touch etc to avoid danger. A mature believer has developed discernment – he’s trained his senses to distinguish what is good and bad. He no longer trusts to the outward appearance, but will question whether a thing is truly good." Source and further information: http://intotruth.org/dev/perfect2a.html

i am not someone who believes in religion but the stories in the bible mainly treat you how to treat others and how to live a nice life so i would say on principle some things in the bible are helpful but others can be farfetched

Maybe for some ... but then you should try quantum mechanics, astronomy, string theory or anything else at the edge of our knowledge. Stuff that was assumed ridiculous just a few years ago is now being taken seriously. How can one ridicule the Bible and then believe in, for example, worm holes? Sure we got the maths and the results from the measuring instruments, but it's still in fantasy world, if you get my drift. People should read the Bible, then go back to their newspapers and science magazines, and ask themselves why different bits match up.

Not for a Crocodile
-
No.Its hard enough to chew to relish its taste better:)

As Mark Twain said "It ain't those parts of the Bible that I can't understand that bother me, it is the parts that I do understand. "
-
No, its really easy to swallow. Hard to interperet sometimes but the best Book there is.
-
If your ingesting the large versions, it will surely be a problem.

It might make the guiness book of world records if someone could do it. Scripture is meant to be digested. It says in the book somewhere, that if we are starving, we can read the scripture for sustenance. it feeds our spirit. some preachers call scripture, meat. or the deep meaning, is meat. Its so hard for some to understand that they have to add even more books and more rules and more rituals to make it simpler to understand. Gawd made it simple so children could understand it. And we know that children's mouths are tiny. If kids can swallow it, then why are adults stumbling over simplistic.
-
If you mix it in the blender and add lots of ice cream, it is more palatable.
-
No. G. K. Chesterton said, "Christianity has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and not tried." This does not mean that people find Christianity difficult but that people think it will be difficult and then never give Christianity a chance. Most people who find the Bible or Christianity too hard to swallow are those who have a sin that they really do not want to give up. With love in Christ.

Not if you download it to a small USB key.
-
Not those pill-sized ones.
-
Yeah, and so is the priest! (that one's for you, altar boys!)
-
It shouldn't, for it is all about the Messiah, from the Garden of Eden until the manger, and even after, and even now, with his second coming, which could happen any moment . . .
-
for me personally, yes.I,ve found it to be contradicting, inhumane, and unlogical to believe in anymore.I don't believe in it's writings anymore because they seem just to extreme and fantastical. So I renounced Christianty and see things through a logical perspective now.No disrespect to the religion or the followers intended.
