I would talk to both of them and make sure something was done about it.
-
both and seriously consider and tell them youre calling the authorities if it ever happens again
-
Parents of the child also..10 bitemarks means that your infant was screaming for awhile..where was the daycare worker who is supposed to be monitoring and protecting? That biting child needs to be isolated from others..it is the job of the daycare worker to control the environment. 10 bites! Was he/she asleep at the wheel? :()
-
I would have a talk with the police.
-
Both.

I would take you child out of there immediately. I have worked in daycares and while it does happend that a toddler with get hurt 10 bites in one day is inexcusible.
-
I would have a talk with the daycare...the one that says either you remove this child from your school or my child along with other children will be removed as well. I would talk with parents of other children that are being cared for there. It is the daycares responsibility to make sure your children are being cared for properly. That means that children that are abusive are to be removed.
-
Well, the daycare center isn't supposed to tell you which child is the "biter". At least, that's the law here in Florida. (Angry parents make for bad parking lot scenes... *cringe*) But I WOULD definitely be taking pictures of my child's injuries, and talking to the daycare owner, the police, and possibly Child and Family Services if they are the licensee for the daycare.

I had a similar thing happen to my son only it was only one bite mark. I went to the owners of the center and told them that I pay to have my child looked after and that he better never come home with bite marks again or I would take it further. I told them since they know they have a biter it is their responsibility to keep that child away from the other children and to talk to that child's parents about the problem. In the long run if the child didn't stop then they should remove it from the center. My son never came home with marks again.

I'd ask the daycare owner what steps they were going to take to stop this from happening again. It's just not right that this should have happened and what were they doing that they didn't stop the other boy from biting the baby?
-
You mean after I bitch slapped the little boy? What? Thats not extreme... I think. It depends really on how bad the bite marks are, if they were bad enough to warrant medical treatment I'd talk to the other parent about bills.
-
the daycare owner, the parent & the police! Please find another daycare for your baby.
-
I would talk to both. If I couldn't be told who the parent of the child was, then I would tell the daycare owner/worker that if it happens again I will be going to the authorities. My child should be able to go to daycare without being terrorized. (i'm childless as of right now, but the same thing still applies)
-
I would definitely talk to the daycare owner. Why was your child bitten repeatedly? I ran a daycare, and one bite could occur in a setting where the kids are well-watched. After the first time it occurred, the 'biter' should have been monitored better. After the second bite, the parents of the biter should have been called. Biting is dangerous, and many childcare centers will not allow biters to stay in the center until the problem is worked out. I would find a new childcare provider, if I were you. Ten bites is way too many.

10bite marks is redeclious and i would be talking to the daycare owner and demanding that there be consequences for the bitter, talking to the bitter's parents won't do much good bc chances are they know and are unable to control the situation, chances are also that your child isn't the first or last to be bitten by the bitter and i would make sure that the owner of the daycare be aware of the situation and the fact that there are 10 bite marks indicates neglect to me if the bitting was hard enough to leave marks then your child most likely cried and why didn't the caregivers investigate after the first bite, the bitter's parents should have been called to come pick up the child.
-
I would call the daycare association. That's an excessive amount of bites which means the children aren't being properly supervised.
-
Ten? Holy cow! I would talk to the daycare owner, document the bites (pictures), and let them know in no uncertain terms that if it happened again I would take legal action. Then I would start looking for another daycare provider because, quite frankly, ten is an excessive number of bites on a baby and somebody was clearly not keeping a close eye on things.
-
Its the owners job to speak with the other parent. If the owner is wise she would remove the biting child from program. You can be really nasty and state if it happens again you will call child services.
-
I work at a daycare center so I know that these things do happen. However, I am surprised that there were TEN bites on his/her arm. That's not good at all. No one can be so busy to let that sort of thing happen. That is a serious case of carelessness. However, I would NOT attempt to go and seek out the parents of the child who bit. It is probably against the policy of your daycare provider and not very wise. Why do you need to talk directly with the parents? What would you hope to accomplish? Besides exchanging some nasty words, I don't think anything would come of doing that. No, I would get in touch with the owner of the daycare and, if deemed necessary, the state. That should clear up any negligence that occurred while your child was at daycare and will probably occur in some sort of penalty for the teacher and/or her assistant.

remove your child from their care and demand a complete refund for any prepaid services. if they refuse, say fine, have photos of the bites enlarged on posterboard and picket it the childcare daily. oh yes, invite the local news to your event.
