  • I think it will be in medicine. Something along the lines of artifical organs, which would also have to include a cure for alot of diseases and conditions therefore, longevity.
  • The techno human? Some physical changes are in process in response to technological advances. For instance, just about everyone has to have their wisdom teeth removed because we no longer have room for them. Our jaws are getting smaller. Along these same lines, we don't seem to need an appendix any more, and people survive quite nicely without gall bladders and spleens. These organs and bone structures may have been required at some point to digest food and filter poisons from our systems, and perhaps with widespread dietary changes these organs are losing their usefulness. I am talking about miniscule changes that will take a long time to manifest, but I think these changes are in the early stages of evolving. Technological advances have eliminated the need to gnaw on raw meat and process it, and slowly over time the human body is adapting to respond to those changes. In the future, the genetic effects of the blending of races and which traits emerge as dominant will effectively change the course of human evolution. Thanks to technology, races are no longer bound by geographical constraints and we are all exposed to foods and diseases from all over the world. This blending will change the human race genetically eventually. Those changes, incrementally, have already begun of course, but their impact on evolution will take a long time to become apparent. In the next "stage" of evolution, technological advances on all fronts will determine what humans look like and how they function. Fun question.
  • I think that we will evolve to have greater range of motion in our thumbs, due to the increase in useage of it. Take text messaging for example. everyone sends them, most people are incredibly fast at typing them and now often use their thumbs to do things which you would normally use your index finger for. I think in future we will develop thumbs which are even more mobile, possibly double jointed and the muscles of out thenar eminence (the fleshy part of your palm below your thumb) will be more powerful and bulkier.
  • An awakening of our supernatural abilities.
  • I think anymore evolution with in our speices is not going to change much. One reason is because not much can kill us as humans. We are growing at an exponential right which does not allow for natural selection to take it course in removing the weak and perpetuating the strong. I think the next bits in human evolution will be artificial. I believe the in the future it will be possible to change our genes before birth. So the next artificial evolution change in our species will be longer life.
  • With the current advances in technology, "survival of the fittest" no longer applies as much to humans, we are more then able to be weak and live a comfortable life. Evolution due to the strong surviving is no longer a major factor for humans. What is now more likely to happen is "survival of the sexiest" where it’s more reliant on what other humans look for in a person to reproduce with. What we find attractive will be what changes in people as we evolve. People will have more symmetrical, better-looking faces, we will be more muscular, we will be shapelier, waists will be thinner, breasts larger. We will probably grow taller, this has been an apparent change already, but probably more to do with improvements in diet then anything else
  • Likely development of traits that reflect the resistance to disease and the lack of certain unneccessary parts (Vestigal Formations)as gene base pairs sequences evolve. If evolution is indeed true, however, it will not be in our lifetimes that such changes will even likely begin to occur.
  • Extinction, if we're not careful.
  • plain and simple!! most of us are going to morph into huge blobs of fat and have no use for much physical movement. but we will have fancy sophisticated remotes that will do everything for us...
  • There is actualy some controversy about that- many people, including myself, believe that humanity is not strongly influenced by the evolutionary process anymore because of our social structure and technology, and soon will not be influenced by it at all. We don't have biological "survival of the fittest" anymore, because children born with birth defects or other problems can get medical help to live longer- even long enough to reproduce. We don't have much natural selection for reproduction either, since our society expects almost everyone to get married and have children. Soon, we will have true gene manipulation, and people will be able to reshape their bodies however they want, completely placing us outside of evolution.
  • Maybe our brains will turn into a rar or winzip file so that we can gather and retain more info?
  • I think our top job is to be good ancestors and if we in this era meet the challenges of our time then our heirs may have powers that would seem godlike to us..the way we take for granted miracles like flying. I think our descendants will turn out better and wiser than us and they will probably wonder how we managed so well in the same way we are awed by our ancestors. I hope so.
  • I don't we're going to change much because our bodies don't need to adapt to anything anymore, and useless genes aren't arbitrarily removed from the gene pool, they are only removed if they have negative effects, or if another gene replaces them (So we wouldn't start getting weaker, lose our little finger, etc unless there was a positive 'reason' to do so; we don't lose genes just because they aren't used anymore) If however we began to colonise other planets, it's entirely possible that we'd then begin to evolve to better suit that planets environment (unless it was EXACTLY the same as Earths, or we built really good artificial life support systems there) Or if for example, there was a nuclear war (or really just any event in which the world's environment is drastically changed), we'd either die or evolve to suit the environment, as Natural Selection dictates : )
  • Since you're a Doctor Who fan, I think you may know what Haemovores are. It is my firm belief that we will evolve into them
  • It will be dysgenic in nature. We are no longer faced with natural predators and a scarcity of food, two of the prime ingredients that cultivated and manifested our intellectual development. Without these two ingredients needed to properly stimulate the mind in a way that forces it to develop, or face extinction, we will de-evolve. Nature is energy efficient. If something is not used, it is taking up energy, and therefore will slowly disappear. If areas of our brains are not being properly utilized, they will degenerate. Mate selection is no longer based on who has the best genes necessarily. Intelligence is passed on for cosmetic trendiness. Flash is selected over substance. Since we live in a culture where we are bombarded by the media with the notion that everyone should reproduce and find a mate, genes that are not necessarily beneficial for the species are passed on. (i.e. thugged out homies, gel-haired fake tanned abdominal obsessed douchebags, etc.) We are creatures of adaptation. Sometimes that adaptation works out in our favor, sometimes it does not. Although the organism is constantly attempting to improve itself, if it is not put in a situation where it HAS to improve, it will not. It will stabilize and eventually degenerate. Throw in a diet of assorted toxins and pathogens, and you have virtually every permutation of genetic anomalies. And so, to answer your question, the human race will slowly regress back to a slightly more primitive state. I.Q's will descend, genuine physical fitness, (as opposed to the appearance of it) will decline, and social institutions will begin to decay. Look around you, it has already begun.
  • I heard somewhere in a newspaper article that we will evolve into super-humans both very intelligent and physically fit, then eventually our race will begin to decline once it has reached it's peak.
  • Me I am already here. But seriously, how on earth would we have any idea?
  • Wings baby!
  • Telepathy.
  • Either True Freedom, or True Enslavement.
  • unles autism is the next stage in our evolution and we can find the perfect blend of autism and normality i dont think we will evolve physicly or mentaly we rely too much on our tech and sik as it sounds we are letting to many weak people survive(not that i would have let 1 of my kids die) i think in a few hundred years we will all be halfcast and in wheel chairs. please dont take anything i have said to be offencive i truly dont mean to offend we allready have the ability to be extraordinary but it is up to all of us as individuals and as a race on the whole to tap into the vast quantitys of unused brain power.
  • X-Men, YEAH!!!!
  • ok some of these have a great possibility of happing but we have addaptd (not evolved)to or surroundings that we wnt need 2 evolve unless there is a major event that maneges 2 destroy all or or most of our resorces like a all out nuke war and evn if that happened we wud prbly mutate more then evolve so all im sayying is that we wnt evolve again becuz we dnt have a need 2 evolve
  • growing wheels on our butts...so we can scoot our fat *sses around everywhere...and grow antennas on our forheads...with a phone attached to the hand. Right?
  • flying humans with x-ray vision? or, maybe the ability to breathe underwater and fins? :S maybee..
  • Mankind coming to the reality that God is real and that He has a wonderful future awaiting His faithful ones. http://www.watchtower.org/e/200805/article_03.htm
  • a sence of empathy that will open the doors into comunication over seperation and the human race will FINALLY learn to get along. NOT because some hypocrit killed off every body but those who think like him but because you feel every pain you inflict on others as though it were your own. thats what I beleive, if god doesnt sell us all for parts that is
  • I am hoping for a spiritual evolution where the need for war and violent aggression is replaced with peace, oneness and love. I think too that humans will become more telepathic.
  • When I was a kid the prediction was that the human body would become smaller in general but the head would become larger. From what I've read more recently, humans are taller now. So.....
  • we will evolve into a dead species by 2100, over taken by our town technology... by 2043 there will be a super computer with more computing power than every human on our planet(fact)... so yeah i hope i am dead in the ground by then... hello judgment day...
  • really fat, with no hair and really thin fingers for playing playstation and changing the channel
  • Transhumanism. Do your research on it ;) It's the most logical step considering how fast computer technology is growing. Did you know that their are people in university learning for jobs that arent even available/heard of yet.
  • Lose the ability to do sums in the head because we are relying on calculators too much.
  • Do you think the Environment and other factors such as Thimensol(Mercury) in Vaccines are having a negative impact on Human Genealogy? Are you aware of the increase in Autism,PDD and Aspergers? Do you think this is caused by Genetic mutations and Environment or something Else? You can find answers on simonfoundation.org
  • I hope we live to see it. There are some who would like to create world war Three. They want us to hate each other. They stress the differences instead of the similarities.
