  • Inline has more torque but hi rpm & balance are a problem along with physical length. I have owned straight 8's turbo charged & they can get with the program. John
  • Inline engines has more torque than V engines
  • Depends on the application...The inline engines with achieve and maintain torque better than the V-types. V-types will fit into a shorter engine compartment. If you're thinking of the V-12 Detroit Diesel engines for marine applications, I would advise that you stay away from them. The Series 60 Detroits are much better, and then there's Cat and Cummins to consider.
