certainly, if you our a capitalist the trade routes to Africa are vitial to transport goods to be sold in he future. Africa shows the only true growth now and in the future. Thats where the market will be in the future. Could that be way america and many other allies forgave debts to African countries, to empower economic growth? I hope this gives a point of view you may not have heard

Without any doubt. Better than any other country. I love the Turkish. Fantastic people. Especially the Germans owe a lot to the Turkish and I would say the Turkish are the only friends of the Germans in Europe.

After they apologise to the Armenians.

Yes - eventually. They have a lot of changes to make to be compatible with the EU: cut corruption, drop torture, tolerate more free speech and differences of opinion (esp. the Kurds). They may not want to make those changes. But if they do, they should be welcomed.

Ostracize and divide is not the road to a peaceful world ... Yes indeed they should be permitted to join ... Regardless of past politics, it's the people who matter and the people becoming one is the only road which will get us close to a world peace.

I would like to see Turkey in the EU.... at some point. However until the Human Rights issue is resolved I dont even think we should start talking about it.

I don't want Turkey in the EU. Most of it isn't even in Europe, it would also mean that we would have a border with places like Syria, Iran and Iraq. Having a land border with such a volatile part of the world would do Europe absolutely no favours. Ultimately with Europe we have to be realistic, and i agree with Sarkozy on this, as he has said we have to have a limit, and cannot keep extending Europe. If Turkey joins, Morocco will once again apply to join, and we could end up with a massive incoherent mass of countries in the EU. Europe is big enough at present, and needs to consolidate. Turkey is an imporatant trading and security partner, and is valued in this respect, but i would not be for it becoming a member of the EU.

As soon as they stop being religions. Religion has no place in a civilised Europe.

If Turkey accepts the same conditions as all other EU-countries I do not see any problem. But as far as I can see, Turkey has been doing a lot to get up to the standards of the EU and I personally like the Turkish because they are nice and friendly people.
