Yes, I was 19, so it doesn't really count. I was at both ends of the parenting ages, a teen Mom with my first, and a so-called 'elderly' Mom with my second, at age 35.

Yes, I had my first child when I was 18. I got pregnant 2 months before my 18th birthday. I dont recommend having a child so young, it was very hard. My boyfriend of 2 years at that time was great. But when I was 8 months pregnant and it was time for him to be a dad and prepare for the baby, he turned out to be a looser. He didnt want to spend his money on the baby, he wanted me to get on welfare. His words were "You can go get on welfare and get food stamps, I work hard for my money, so Im going to spend it on me and my music". And to prove it, he had come home with a brand new guitar that he spent his whole check on. Needles to say he was out the door. And has been a dead beat ever since.

No, I know that our world is dangerously underpopulated, but I decided to be selfish and not contribute to solving that problem through having children as a teenager. I think I'll wait till I have a house in a safe neighborhood to have children. I'm sorry to disappoint so many people, but I think that its best that way for me and my progeny.

I was 19 when I had my son.
