Recently, I've noticed many more high-level downrates, both to my own and others' Q&A, than ever. Would you attribute this phenomenon to it having gotten easier for trolls to get to higher levels, or to high-level members having gotten more 'trollish'?

I think some have been part time or latent trollers. They've climbed the ladder unimpeded and haven't repented their ways.

I would first look at the quality of my questions and answers instead of blaming other people and assuming the downrates are unjustified. But that's just me. Ah, OK. The above may not really pertain to you since your questions and answers are normally excellent. I think, on the whole, that there are more members that can give -5s and -6s than ever before. That might be why you're seeing more downrates.

yes...I got -17 in 2 minutes on just 1 question alone a couple days ago. Tonight, -15 in a couple of minutes...another since. They seem to be on the rampage. Makes me wonder if a few are working as teams like they did on Y/A. How sad and pathetic!

Yes, definatily all of the reasons stated. After some questions i saw yesterday I believe that some of them are so desperate to have the top questions that they use DRs to manipulate the board.
