  • It's not. This is one of the more recent phishing scams. Do not click on the link or give them your information. The IRS will NOT contact you by e-mail in reference to such matters.
  • If the IRS wanted to inform you that you were entitled to some moola, they would send you a letter via the united States Postal Service....NOT an e-mail. Do not give out your info.
  • If they were going to give you money it would not be through an e-mail. There are so many scams out there. Don't give them any info. They will contact you another way...hey if they are really the IRS as they say they will have ALL your information and be able to contact you.

  • Like the other answers, the IRS will not contact you via email. IRS phishing scams are ery popular right now and a lot of people fall for them. Do not reply to this email and report it to the FBI at www.ic3.gov. The website also has valuable information regarding fraud and phishing scams.

  • It isn't and it's a way to get your ss, bank info, etc...everything needed for identity theft! Sure hope you haven;t 'clicked' on it. the IRS will NEVER, NEVER send an email!
