He ascended into Heaven, it was Hell he descended into and it was his spirit that is supposed to have done it so therefore no oxygen needed.+ :o)
-
When Christ ascended into heaven He was in what is called the ressurection body. This is the same body that the saved will recieve when we go to heaven. this body will be different than the body that we have now and will not need oxygen in order to survive. God Bless

He didn't need oxygen. By that point, he was already a zombie.
-
He is the son of god, he can do whatever he wants.

Descend means to come down. Ascend means to rise. He could do this because He had His resurrection body, which does not have to conform to earthly needs.

1) Good question. Because Jesus is supposed to have *bodily* ascended to heaven. 2) "The general and most common understanding of the Christian doctrine of Ascension holds that Jesus bodily ascended to heaven in the presence of his apostles, forty days following his resurrection. The term "heaven" is generally believed, by practicing Christians, as referring to a physical reunion and sitting at the right side with God the Father on His Throne, as opposed to a spiritual transformation and experience of the Divine which is common to the mystical traditions of many world religions." "Even within the pious Christian tradition, the language used by the Evangelists to describe the Ascension must be interpreted according to usage. To say that he was taken up or that he ascended, does not necessarily imply that they locate heaven directly above the earth; no more than the words "sitteth on the right hand of God" mean that this is his actual physical posture, but rather denotes his equality with the Father, according to Trinitarianism." Source and further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ascension_of_Jesus 3) So actually, even if the French use the same word (ciel), Heaven is not the sky. And Hell is not the underground. That could have people believed long ago. But in the meantime, we checked. You could rather assume that the Ascension takes place into another dimension. So probably no oxygen needed. Moreover, you could have some possibilities to cheat if you are God...

Heaven isn't a place with coordinates in the physical universe. Jesus didn't float out into space when He ascended to Heaven - He passed from the natural into the supernatural reality.

The body is still a body in several respects, that is what it means by Bodily into heaven. He did not leave His body behind but took it with Him. This new body can eat but will not hunger. Christ ate fish with the apostles after His ressurection. The new body can drink but will not thirst. The scripture tells us that we will drink from the river of life in heaven. Thomas was able yo touch Christ's new body but Christ also appeared in a locked room, which would mean that He passed through the wall. This new ressurection body is a body in some ways that we understand but also is capable of things that we do not. God Bless
