  • Fasting is in general a bad idea for losing weight. In fact it tends to lead to yo-yo weight - weight loss, then more weight gain. 14 pounds of weight gain in 3 months is enough to speak to a doctor about. I do not know why she is too busy to go for walks, or to add more exercise into her daily program. climbing stairs where placed for classes, at libraries - what ever instead of taking a lift is a good idea. Taking the time after supper to walk around the block should be manageable - not only god for digestion but will also help her sleep better. i have no idea what she eats - most often things like fried foods can be reduced in the diet which has a huge impact on how many calories one takes in. However since she is on a medication and you suspect that is the cause - then changing diet/exercise program is not going to do much good. Speak with the prescribing doctor, s/he may have an alternative or better suggestions on how to deal with the side effects of the medication.
  • Ask her doctor to change the pill she takes. Her weight should slowly return to normal when she finds a pill that works for her =] or so my doctor said.. x
