  • (please take time to quickly read this……it won’t take more than a minute…….what you need to read is shorter than it looks) . Well my fellow AB’ers, we are once again facing a presidential election and as always, we will decide who will lead America……...and once again we have the presidential candidates making their “Great” speeches about how they will make their changes in the white house to make America better…………….There is just one problem with all these statements about “change” coming from the candidates………politicians don’t initiate change…….The American people do, by giving politicians a theoretical “boot in the rear” every time politicians start working for their own interests instead of American interests……….And quite frankly there has been a dismal lack of “boots” lately to keep the politicians in line… ……….all these candidates have been in politics long enough to know what to say that will entice voters to vote for them……..and until more “boots” from the American people start flying, we will continue to see the same politicians working for their self-interest instead of the country’s….. . So let’s say we get the “flying boots” started………how about it people? . . Now, we all know that you don’t make things better by making the same dumb mistake over and over……..the same principle applies to politicians . A perfect example of the kind of crap politics that we need to get rid of is the recently passed legislation that banned the incandescent light bulb……I’m sorry, but doesn’t the legislature have better things to do? For further info on this legislation please read this: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/560023 (only need to read first paragraph for info) . How can we get better politics in Washington if we continue to have politicians that will support the kind of bogus bills listed above? (hint:--it isn’t about banning the light bulb, it is about politicians that have ceased to act in America’s best interest) …If you feel the same way I do about this, please read below. ……….Below I have provided a letter and contact info for all of the senators that supported the bill mentioned above..(Senators listed by state in alphabetical order)……….who here would be willing to take 30 seconds to e-mail the letter to the senator(s) in their state that supported the bill…..or, if you wish, you can write your own letter and send it to the senators……please only send the letter to the politicians listed in the state you live in………..if you do decide to send the letter I have provided, please agree to what the letter says…… . I am not putting up the congress voting record for points or anything like that……heck, as far as I am concerned you don’t have to give this question any points………what I am trying to do (with your help) is to spread information about the kind of crap Washington is doing, and to bring it to an end. . ………….i am very serious about this….. and please, if you think it is worth it, copy and past my answer here to an e-mail and send it to those who you think would like to participate and also send letters………(or even simply tell other AB’ers who might otherwise not see this question)……..if each of us only took 1 minute to send our congressmen these letters and to pass on this info to others we know, the number of people we reach would be immense. . Is this light bulb ban a “major” issue of the day? Not really, but it is a place to start, and it is something, I think we can agree is BS politics that needs to go out the window. I chose this topic because it doesn’t have to do with “republicans” or “democrats”……this is simply a matter of common sense and what kind of politics we don’t need. . I think it would be great if we could keep a running count of the total number of letters sent out…….so if you decide to send a letter (doesn’t have to be mine, by any means) please let me know (post an answer, or a comment) and if possible, also inform me of how many other people you sent e-mails to who also sent letters. (you don’t have to give out their information or name or anything, just the number of people who sent out the letter) …please be truthful. . depending on how many responses I get to this question, I will address more of the BS politics and the voting records of our politicians to AB and we can all start making real changes. …(and if people are interested in this, and you have an idea of a BS political issue….i would be glad to address it) . . ok, so below is the list of senators….to contact yours, simply click on the link below your states senator’s name and “Copy and paste” my letter, or write your own in the space provided in the link, and then follow the directions on the link’s page. . PROVIDED LETTER: (write your own if you want) . . Dear Senator, It has recently come to my attention that you voted in favor of legislation that would ban the incandescent light bulb. I am disappointed to hear that you supported such legislation. I cannot support a politician that has ceased to act in the best interests of those he represents. Unless a change in policy occurs, and the interests of the American people becomes your number once concern, you won’t receive my support or my vote for re-election. Sincerely, Concerned citizen . . . • The incandescent lightbulb wastes energy, which wastes our worlds resources. If you want to take all the time and space for this type of thing, why not pick something worthwhile instead of this rot? Why not start a campaign for better funding for social services or something? Get serious.
