Question

Help answer this question below.

I put a wild bunny in with my pet bunnies, and she has 10 bunnies now. They don't act like my other bunnies, they're very skittish. Should I let them all go with my mama when they are weaned?

It was just a wild rabbit but it wasn't a WILD rabbit. Real wild rabbits cannot mate easily with domestic rabbits as they have a different number of chromosomes. The reason your kits aren't like other rabbits must be the amount of handling you are giving them and not because they are half wild as they probably aren't. And why would you let all the rabbits go? If you don't want your rabbits, find good homes for them or find a rabbits rescue program near you. Domestic rabbits do NOT do well in the wild. They usually get killed and eaten in a very short time.

First of all, why the heck would you let WILD rabbits meet with PET rabbits?!? The wild ones could be rabid!

I think it was unfair to the rabbits who you bred, why would you do that? what are you going to do with those bunnies? if you let them go then you will be handing them freely to foxes and other wild animals who will eat them straight away. Have you thought about how your going to find potentially 10 homes for them all????
