Yes, but that's a new one to me!

My mom calls me sometimes to talk about my DNA.
-
lol..sometimes. Sounds like she missed you and wanted to hear your voice, so she came up with a 'legitimate' reason to call. appreciate it..i only wish i had that kind of relationship with my sisters.

I have been buying these drawstring trashbags at The Dollar Tree and when I pull them shut, the channel and the drawstring rips off the bag. I am not happy about this and will not be purchasing these miserable bags again. I have the most insane, moronic phone calls with my mother. I will not call them conversations because it is usually my mother doing 90 percent of the talking and I can't get any thoughts in and if I try, she doesn't listen anyway.

All the freakin' time! I'm doing work, I'm in the middle of a rather difficult patch, I'm about to type the solution and ... ring ring... Oh, it's about the crazy weather, or the colour of some guy's shirt at the shopping strip, or how the coffee was better at such and such's, or why don't people stop and think these days I mean really, or who was that guy on television about five years ago who did that sketch oh it was so funny I can't remember ah well... After forty five minutes... I've completely forgotton where I was.

My oldest brother always e-mails me the silliest, useless things. And yes, he also calls from time to time to tell me the price of gas is going up (I know that already), do I have paper for my printer and if not there's a sale at Wal-Mart with regards to paper, if my little daughters have their own computers (which they do not, and why would he ask such a question), etc. And he always calls when my family and I are having a peaceful dinner or watching a nice nature program on t.v. Ugh! lol. :) Hi Kitt-tastic. How was your weekend? Mine went by too quickly but I liked it. Just sat around and moped about like a good ol' dad should. lol.
-
No, my family is starting to forget about me since I moved away. I don't even get to hear all the family drama, which I don't mind one bit. But thats ok because I am the one who likes to call people unexpectantly and talk random silly things.

This sounds like a conversation i would have with my brother. Or he babbles instead of getting to the point. "Hey, Cantras, ((I've been here all week and I know you've been around all week and you might have gone grocery shopping already, oh, and, ))I've got some coupons for veggie burgers if you want them, ((but I was wondering if you and Love have anything planned for this weekend or if you're going to take his car, because I know his car is better and you like it and i know you do stuff most weekends, but if you've already gone grocery shopping and you're not doing something or if you're using his car, )) can I take the car this weekend? There's a greeting and two sentences of that that actually needed to be said.

Yes.My sister called to rant about the "catsup gravy"she ate at her brother-in-laws house the other day.

My step-dad called me and talked for >45 minutes (long distance, FL to NH) about how a road near me got renamed a century ago.
-
I am that person in my family. My mom knows that sometimes when I call and I have that special tone in my voice, just shut up and listen... I will hang up soon and you can go about your day.
-
My sister loves to talk on the phone, so any reason is a good one for her. She will often call and, while we're talking, she remembers she needs to tell her husband something, so half the time, I'm just listening to them talking to each other.
-
Don't complain. She may have just needed a reason to talk to you. I wish my family kept in closer touch. We are scattered and all very busy. I am always glad to hear from them.
