There's only me here. Me and my laptop. Alone, old, crippled with arthritis, and ohh so cold and unloved. So I make up a few situations and characters on AB to amuse myself in my final months. Is that so very wrong?

I think so long as you aren't hurting anyone or contributing to others feeling bad for some reason or other in your Q&A/debates, KNOCK YOURSELF OUT (said in whatever accent one of your characters would have) is my view.

Nothing's wrong with it... we all have the power to be whoever we want to be online or face to face. I do, however, wonder why you wouldn't want to give people the chance to know the true you? By creating these characters, you are only making a wider distance between yourself and the rest of the world. If that is your intent, then you have every right to do so, but if it were me I would want to embrace every real thing I could lay my eyes and hands on.

I once made a derogatory coment about one sockpuppet of yours. However, upon closer inspection I had to eat my words as your "characters" as you say, are good natured and humorous. Our interactions have been civilized as well. Maybe I'm different in believing, that except for certain cases, you should have only one account in here.

I've got no problem with any of your questions, per se. The questions can pertain to many people in this world, and the answers may well help someone who may not ask for themselves. Hypothetical or not, as long as there is no venom or derision directed at anyone, the questions are perfectly legitimate. But....Here's the problem. People are kind hearted and genuinely want to help. Some questions tug at heart strings and generous people put their time and effort into a show of sympathy, support, and advice. Finding out that the question and situation was a sham disappoints and makes us feel foolish. That doesn't make US feel good. Just something for you to consider.

seems fine as long as nobody's getting flamed or having their sympathies miguided. That being said, I'm SURE there's a fair percentage of questions being asked that are complete BS. I see people fall for them all the time. I don;t know whether people are just naiive or afaraid that if they were wrong about i being BS it could hurt not to offer and answer, but when you get get a question that sounds wayyy too made up, it probably is. I'm a longtime snopester, and we study that crap all the time.
