A succifient way to increase computer speed is to delete any files or remove any programs that you do not need. If you are on Windows, you can try using disk cleanup to help further increase speed.

You could use the defragment program to reorganize the files on your hard drive.

Check out the programs in your "Start-Up" folder. The system has to "load" all these programs ino Memory when you boot-up, this can take time. Esp. if you have a limited amount of Memory, because then the computer has to load eveything then transfer the excess data back to the HD and keep track of and keep transferring stuf back and forth. Also consider that you may have some Spyware or Malware that is hogging your system. Try LavaSoft's free version of Adaware. also Spybot Search and Destroy. The Free Version of AVG is very good also. After you've installed and updated and run these. Do it again in "Safe Mode". Remember to update definitions before restarting in Safe mode. Any or all of the above may be your problems

Some possible solutions: 1. Delete all your old files, temorary files, cookies, etc. 2. Get a good adware removal program and use it. 3. Buy more random access memory. 4. Defrag your hard drive. 5. Buy a better graphics card. If doing those doesn't help, buy a better computer.
