  • No, I don't think there is such a thing as a 'wrong' belief. Religious beliefs are a personal thing, and there are many routes to the same destination.

Speaking of the word "wrong," there is such a thing as you are "incorrect" for saying many routes lead to the same destination. I don't know what Amazon book or Barnes & Noble book you came across, but it certainly not the biblical case. Other religions teach there are many ways that lead to "their gods," and not the God Christians believe in.

There is no actual evidence that the Christian deity is any more real than those of other religions.

ReiSan, the evidence is based on love. Jesus taught love in comparison to the other so-called gods who teach their children how to be terrorists at an early age. Matthew 5:43-48 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in Heaven. For He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 You therefore must be perfect, as your Heavenly Father is perfect."
  • Absolutely not, there are still people that have never even heard the word of the "Christian God"..Tribal people and whatnot... And still even if you don't believe, that does not hamper you from being a good person nonetheless...
  • No, absolutely no. The only people who are "wrong" are those who think anyone who doesn't believe as they do are wrong....or even a sinner or going to hell. I've seen a lot of people going off on anyone who doesn't share their same beliefs on here and on other sites. I find those people close-minded and sad.
  • No. Everyone is free to choose what they believe in, or to have no belief at all. In the end, we will all find out who is right.
  • Of course not. Christianity is just one of the religions in the world. Other religions are equally as valid.
  • No, they are not wrong, and they have a 50% better chance of becoming my friend.
  • This is one of the most difficult questions to answer, especially since most religions claim exclusivity. I have recently completed a very thorough personal review of the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus, called the Christ. An excellent book for help in answering this question is The Reason For God, by Timothy Keller.
  • Not at all. There are many different POV. Different strokes for different folks..
  • I believe so, yes.
  • Yes! Not only are they wrong but they are in mortal danger! They will die and burn in the fires of hell. Ohh mercy me. Let them believe father! For if they do they shall LIVE FOREVER HALLELUJAH!
  • Yes, they arent bad, just wrong.
  • NO!!! Everyone has a right to believe as they wish.
  • The Bible says yes, they are wrong. But then, if you don't believe the Bible, then for you, the point is moot but that still doesn't change the truth.
  • No more so than any other person that believed or believes in any other god(s).
  • Not wrong. Faith comes from the things heard and learned and believed. (Romans 10:14-15) "However, how will they call on him if they have not put faith in him? How, in turn, will they put faith in him about whom they have not heard? How, in turn, will they hear without someone to preach?"
  • They are wrong if the don't. In the bible, according to John 8 verse 58 and John 14 verse 9 to 12 we can learn that Jesus is God. John 8:58 58
  • 3-21-2017 This is a hard subject for people to grasp. The bible says a Christian is a son of God, and you ask if it is wrong to be a son of somebody else. No, it is not wrong. But you have a choice, and one day all the sons of God go to live with Him, while those who choose to be sons of somebody else get whatever reward falls to them. Since this is a rather important choice, you really should read the book to see how you can make an informed decision, rather than listen to some stranger. Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
  • 3-21-2017 Faith is believing. A lot of people have made up their own bs definitions for the word, but anybody can find a concordance and verify that one Greek word is translated both ways. Believing is a natural ability - anybody can do it. But the bible also says faith came by Jesus Christ, and that it is a manifestation of the holy spirit. That establishes two contexts: the natural ability to believe that existed before Jesus and the spiritually enhanced ability to believe that comes with the gift of holy spirit when you accept Jesus as your savior.
  • No, the Christian God doesn't want to force us to accept Him as if we were bots. The Bible teaches that many are called, but few are chosen. (Matthew 22:14) If you read the Parable, those who were invited refused to come, because many are too busy chasing their worldly pursuits. That is, the materialistic view and other religious paths.

The material world is all that exists. There is no scientific evidence that spirits or souls exist. This deity is quite a tyrant. He supposedly gives humans free will, but if they use it, he tortures them forever. That is hardly free will.
    • Jenny The Great ⭐
Quote: "The material world is all that exists." The things that are seen are temporary. What is not seen is Eternal. Temporary versus Eternal, there is a vast difference between the two. The way we process the difference can determine the level of peace and contentment in a Christian's life. Quote: "but if they use it, he tortures them forever. That is hardly free will." Not exactly, you said it yourself, you put your trust in the material world to make your decision by your own freewill.
  • My god is a Neanderthal... doesn't that make you think because you have some of that gene too:)
  • 1 John 4 Testing the Spirits Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Love Comes from God Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
  • It is wrong to have blind faith in any idea. Faith has no evidence and may be contrary to evidence, so it is unreliable.

Quote: "It is wrong to have blind faith in any idea." It looks like you don't know the difference between right and wrong. Richard Dawkins wrote: "Science requires faith too before it can have reasons," https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2015/11/why-scientific-faith-isnt-the-same-as-religious-faith/417357/ *Facepalm*
