  • Sound advice! Thanks :-D
  • because people tend to think that the only right answer is their answer and if you didnt hear their answer clear enough to see that. then you obviously werent listening. explain to that person that you were listening and you did take some of the advice (point out what you did that they suggested) and then tell them that the other stuff just didnt seem to be what you needed to do (but in a nicer way than i just said it)
  • I give LOTS of advice. People even ask for it. Then they never take it, but talking to me helps them decide what to do.
  • Adivse is just that "advise" they can tell you their thoughts, and what they might do or like you to do in a situation, but you must make up your own mind in the end..That's free will. If they get upset, well then you just won't get any advise from them again...Which might be a good thing.
  • I think you already know the answer. They won't believe you listened to them unless you do everything they tell you to, exactly how they want you to. I know what you mean, though.
  • Maybe they are a bit controlling. Maybe you don't agree with their advice and they should just accept that.
  • Because of this. Lol. Hey B! http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/3145386
  • Well, advice is just that... advice. It's like an opinion. You can't always take someone's advice. What they would do may not be the same as you would do. You did what you should if you asked for the advice. Listen, evaluate and then decide what's best for you to do. If they are friends, they will respect what you decide.
  • Advice allows the listener a hope to more choices about a current situation that they may feel are available... As far as them actually taking advice, there are many factors that can cause a person to not heed "good" advice... To answer your question, the reason I feel people sometimes get upset for not taking their advice has several reasons as well... Some feel that maybe the road you are currently taking would somehow harm you... If the person that is giving advice is a close relative or a long-time friend, they may not want to see you hurt and get angry that you choose to continue down the same road that may have either hurt you before or has hurt them in doing the same... Other reasons would be that some people may find you close minded about certain aspects... Making someone feel they are being ignored sometimes affects pride... Have you tried instead of not saying anything, simply tell them you listened to them and understand what they are saying and appreciated their input? Sometimes it's simple as them wanting some acknowledgement...
