Just as there are symptoms of an illness, thus being able to identify what the illness is, masturbation is a sign of a more serious moral sin. Masturbation in and of itself is wrong, but more importantly, it shows that there is something more wrong in the life of the person who practices it. There have been many other answers in this section of "Mormonism Beliefs" about how masturbation affects the person, so I will not get into that. To SpecialEd: There is probably nothing wrong with the person, but there may be something wrong in the lifestyle or choices that the person is making.

Everybody masturbates. If you say you don't you are lying, even if you're a Mormon.

Just because millions of people masturbate does not make it right. There may be Mormons that masterbate but mormons are not perfect though they strive to be like Christ who is perfect. That is what forgiveness is for. Mormons still believe it to be a sin.

I don't know if they consider it a sin, but I can tell you from personal experience, if they catch you doing it during services, even just a little innocent rocking on the heel of your sunday shoes, they throw you out!

Wow, I did it all the time, I thought it was a way of showing myself how much I love myself and it made me able to enjoy the real thing better, before that I wasn't even getting there. I don't feel sinful doing it either. I wanted to be a Mormon, but this and coffee, I don't know anymore....
