  • Everything is risky, really. Religions (ALL) religions are based on faith...and some of the religious beliefs do NOT hold up to logic, but that's really where faith comes in.
  • It is about realistic as us loving someone and believing they love us too.....how do they know that we really do love them???? It's just that they know that they know that they know that we do....you just believe it. It is something in your heart that you just know that all that you read and learn about JESUS and GOD is true. To me it is not risky.....when you believe in HIM and all about HIM you risk nothing. You only have alot to gain in trusting HIM and following HIM and all his teachings and what HIS WORD says. You gain so much when your life here on earth is over. All of us will one day reach the end of our days....what is after that?? HIM and all HIS goodness and love and the wonderful place called Heaven.
  • I think it is very realistic as many have been doing just that for a very long time. I fail to see where there is any risk at having faith in something higher than man.
  • what are you risking? what is there to lose? i'd rather take the risk...than not take the risk... besides think what happens to the ones that didn't... if you find out HE was NOT, you haven't LOST anything but GAINED eternal life...if HE IS...oh well, can't win them all! It is Risk I won't take but I am not a gambler..but I say the ODDS are in the Believers favor.... HOW realistic is that? It is about FAITH and TRUST, not taking risks because it is not REALISTIC....
  • Worshipping a man because he was a loving and caring human being is good for your soul and not risky at all; however, believing that he was God is simply ludicrous, particularly if we consider that the existence of a God, in the sense in which religion describes him, is mankind's most ridiculous invention.
  • It certainly WAS risky for his immediate followers - all of which (with th exception of John who was exiled to Patmos) were executed for their faith.
  • Would it not be riskier to worship a man from 20 years ago?
  • I find it unrealistic.I am not sure that Jesus existed at all,and even if he did he never claimed to be god,the son of god or anything of that sort. The translation of the bible is filled with mistakes.
  • Is it not risky to walk across the street? Or go out to dinner? At least you are believing in something that will(presumably) make you a better person, and that should only mean good things.
  • Good question! :-) Personally it doesn't seem risky to me - that implies some possibility that he may actually be god. It's simply idiotic. There are about 10 guys on my block who make the same claim. It strikes me that at least I KNOW they exist which is a big on up on that 2000 year old guy - after all I can smell them from a mile away. But seriously folks: Worshiping a guy who may or may not have lived... and if he did, who died 2,000 years ago??? Isn't that just a little morbid? YUK
  • Very risky....except that He rose from the dead to prove His claims.
  • Risky isn't the word I would use. Difficult may be a better one. The problem with Christianity is not that it has been tried and found wanting, but that it has been found difficult, and left untried.
  • Jesus said something which is true whether you believe in Jesus or not--you judge a tree by its fruits and a movement or belief system by its results. A couple of books came out in the last five years--What if Jesus had Never Been Born by D. James Kennedy and How Christianity Changed the World by Alvin Schmidt. Both of them heavily document and prove that the world would be a vastly different, and much worse, place if Jesus had never lived. Half of my relatives lost their religion and their lives are a bad soap opera. The other half kept it and they are happy and productive. I'd call it risky to lose my religion, and not realistic at all.
  • It's only risky if you value your mind
