I actually do remove my hair, I am a male, because I cannot stand it at all. I think more men should wax/shave.

It has always(it seems to me) been that women have to be perfect for the male counter part. If a woman is not pretty, skinny, busty...or in general not the idealistc chick that the media set up, then we are deamed unatractive. Men on the downside of that have never been required of any of this. I as a women do not belive in the aparence of another. Therefor, when it comes to determining the "attractiveness" of a male, i look for the inword charictoristics as oposed to the outword appearnce.

Give me a hairy woman, please. No, not a chimpanzee, but one who doesn't shave or wax. I don't mind trimming, neatening or general grooming of body hair, but I find it unnecessary to pluck the stuff out. It's there for a reason and it's not unsightly.

(I cant comment...so inorder to answer i have to answer the question again >_< srry) i sadly do. I dont do it frequently tho. I shave so that the person i am with doesnt become discusted by myself. I am no true beauty, so anything i can do (even if its the media that controlls his mind) to make myself even slightly more appealing to him i do. and it kills me that that is what i do and how i am...a great big controdicting mess.

Because we don't want to look like this:

i am a man, and uh, i get rid of the unwanted hair. Why? because its cleaner, it feels better, and it is in fact sexier. nobody like a pube stuck on the teeth/tongue right? but i dont think it is society pressure that people do this. its just a natural thought of mankind...

Its just a mixture of society and big companies advertising in my opinion. It is a great question though! One I often ask my boyfriend, to which his response is "its just how its supposed to be!" although I still don't shave my legs much anyways :P

Oh, the grand "why"... I really don't know why, actually... but it started a LONG time ago. Like... ancient Egypt or something (Egyptian priests removed EVERY hair from their bodies - INCLUDING eyelashes). My aunt has a women's shaver from the mid-1800s, and oh, my is it scary looking. I am pretty crunchy granola when it comes to most things... but I do shave my legs (knees and below) and pits, and I wax my eyebrows (I have serious Groucho Marx syndrome). Since my belly started growing, I've pretty much let up on the legs, and my husband doesn't mind! I warn him at times - "Honey... it's been a week..." and he couldn't care less. The man worries about his OWN back hair (all six strands of it) more than my legs ^_^

I have always been bothered by this stupid double standard. Doesn't bother me in the least, and actually can find it quite attractive on a woman. Stop shaving. I'm twice as attracted to a woman like that simply because of her strength to go against the norm and do her own thing. A strong independent woman who doesn't shave is perfect in my books!

Because no hari makes skin smooth and nice. I don't do it all that often. Lucky for me, my hair is really thin, so if I haven't shaved my legs for months you can hardly see the difference.

Some of us like our looks. And I like pubic hair on women. Screw society.
-
i attribute it to all the airbrushing and clean digital images we see in the media. our ideas of beauty are transforming according to the medium!
-
Don't like it, don't shave. Whatever you do, please don't preach about body hair.
-
Lacking bodily hair is a sign of youthfulness. Incidentally, I am male, and I tend to get rid of some bodily hair, it does get annoying. I don't know how you've gotten the idea that it's only a female thing.
