  • If it's displayed then it's not private and I wouldn't have a problem reading it if I were interested enough to do so. If it is meant to be private, I don't think the person would have it displayed.
  • If they have it out on display, I figure it's fine to read it. I feel that they shouldn't put them out (especially at work) if they don't want other people to see them.
  • At least for me, I display greeting cards if I want other people to see it. If I didn't want anyone looking at it, I would put it away in a safe spot. If it's out in the open and displayed, like on a mantle or coffee table, I think it's meant for others to read it.
  • I usually don't pick up stuff laying around other peoples homes or offices, but I guess that if they are displaying it they want you to look at it. So while messing with other peoples stuff demonstrates poor manners it probably doesn't constitute a violation of privacy.
  • Violating, when I get a card from someone I usually set it on top of my t.v. for a week or so, and it is so I see it often, it isn't so people who come into my home can read it. I would never go into someones house and grab a card and just start reading.
  • I think it depends on what room it's displayed in. If it's in the living room which is a public space I would assume that it is there to be seen and enjoyed. But I wouldn't' read someone's card that was in the bedroom or private office.
  • Damn sure would! If you have issuses, do not invite me to your house. I will look into your shower, medicine cabinet and fridge. All is for view. Come to my house and nothing is sacred. If I invite you to my house PLEASE feel to look into my life. We all basiclly live the same. Simply.
  • I don't think anyone has the right to open other people's personal cards and read their contents, whether they are on display or not, and it is not something I would ever do without an invitation to. People usually display items in their home for their own personal enjoyment, not for the interest and enjoyment of whoever happens to be visiting :)
