I know what you mean if they picked a user name we still dont know who they are,so whats the point of being Anon.
-
You can change your name to whatever you like whenever you like. There also could be a hundred users with Major Look as their user name. Thats one of the things I love about answerbag. Your user name isn't set in stone. But I can see how all the anonymous users could be confusing.

I think it has to do with the level of comfort..some of us (like me) are open books..others have reasons to engage with others without revealing anything about who they are. I attach no significance or evil motive..I just think they want to be very careful..maybe they've been burned before. :)

Actually, since I've been cloned many times by trolls, I know that others can use my screen name. I think AB should not allow the use of simply "anonymous" or exact same screen names for that very reason. It's also very confusing see so many "anonymous" bags in AB.

I think there are two kinds of Anonymous users here on AB: 1. Long-time users who have left and changed their username to Anonymous 2. Those users who really don't have an intention to stay on AB. They usually ask a question and when they get an answer, they leave and never return. I do agree with you that it's hard to relate to an Anonymous user.

I think they prefer to be called "people of anonymity." But anyway, if they wish to be called Anonymous, that's their prerogative. I know I'd rather just have a name so that people could identify me....but maybe they don't.
