While I believe that everyone should be treated equally, I think that the feminist movement failed to understand basic human nature. Many of the big feminists tried to deny that there are fundamental differences between men and women despite study after study that show that there are. Because of this major blind spot in feminism, it was doomed from the beginning. Don't get me wrong. I am not saying that women should be kept at home barefoot and pregnant nor should the men dominate over woman. Women the workplace are entitled to the same respect and pay as any man. However, men and women are different both physiologically and psychologically. This means that there will just be some jobs at which men are better than women and some jobs at which women will be better then men. Note that that is a very broad generalization. As with any generalization, there will also be exceptions. However, that does not change the fact that the generalization hold true for the population at large.

I think it means we have failed civilization is general. The feminist movement had its time and though there is still not 100% equality in pay and tendency to advance I think most of what needed to change has changed. When childcare becomes cheap or free and women are paid the same as men then we will have parity. I don't think anyone is still saying that men and women are exactly the same, but men and women are more similar than they are different. That being said, the ones striving for the bachelor are not duly elected representatives of my sex and hopefully not of my culture. Though I worry sometimes.
