Outside of the LGBT spectrum yes, it implies being direct, correct, serious and many other things.

Straight means straight to me. It also means heterosexual. It also reminds me of George Strait.

Straight means without bends or curves. I tend to try and not associate it with sexual orientation.

The word "straight" has many meanings. As far as sexual orientation goes, it does not imply correct or incorrect. It's just a word used to describe heterosexuals, just as gay is a term used as a generalization to mean homosexuals. If I think about it, I know a lot of homosexuals who are cranky and not at all gay.
