No. I'm proof of that.

It would appear to me that in modern society, people really only do what truly matters when the end is nigh, so to speak. Unless it's for the self, nothing is ever understood, rightfully felt if there can ever be such a thing, or realized until unearthed by calamity, extremes or limits. Some sorta like extremely displeasing psychological orgasm. Unfortunately, I'm kind of having trouble understanding this question, as does abjection need be ''felt'' by oneself or be witnessed in order to unlock true compassion? If it's anything like the latter though, I won't say that it's the ONLY way to ever truly be compassionate, but in MANY cases it seems to be true. And even then it's probably just shock. Get used to it and you won't care anymore. :( So is it really true compassion? I mean homeless people are humans, so does this mean I'll never be nice to someone with a job even though they're a human, and will only become as such if they go homeless? I'm starting to rethink my own position actually, because I believe we're all equal as far as nature goes, and true compassion cannot, therefore, be called as such if it's only attributed to a situation before being attributed to the person IN the situation. On the other hand, that's what compassion is, isn't it? Feeling sorry, pitying and sympathising an equal person because of the disfortunate situation or label they've somehow gotten themselves into, sometimes without a choice? If that's the case, I guess mankind can never ever actually be nice to everyone without bias until something strikes at their own personal beliefs, morals and emotions, whether obscure or generally accepted. I was right the whole time we suck as a race! :) Kinda sad though, that you said this question was inspired by me but that I have no idea what hell you're talking about. XD If I didn't answer it right well, at least it made me work my brains. :)
