Yes you can go in without a college degree and earn one, as in ROTC.

It depends on the country. In Canada, you would either have to already have a degree, be already enrolled to get one or go through RMC or Royal Roads get one and then muster as a Pilot.

it is best to go in as an officer !!! never startat this at the very bottom..much harder to work your way up. ask a recruiter of course beware as they will sell you golden dreams of being all you can be starting at the bottom, not true. Insist on going in as an officer.

Being a pilot is one of the most popular careers in the military. As such there is a lot of competition for the slots in the pilot training programs. Personally, I would expect that it would be better to start in the pilot training path (i.e. go to college and take R.O.T.C.) than to start as an enlisted person. If you go in as an enlisted person you will get trained as something else. The military may decide not to give one of its precious pilot training slots to someone who is already trained for another job that they also need done. Additionally, from what friends who have been through it have told me, going through Office Candidacy School (the training needed to go from enlisted to officer ranks) is much harder than going the R.O.T.C route. So, you may be able to become a pilot in the military by starting as an enlisted person, but it would be much harder than by starting with college.

Actually, it is easier for you to become an officer as an enlisted then it is coming in as an officer. For leadership reasons you get to be a soldier at the bottom getting fed the crap from the top. That way when you become the top, you understand and sympathize with them. As far as promotion when you are an officer, you move alot faster than a west point graduate.

Yes you can do it either way. In the Navy it is called going through OCS if you get your degree on your own after already in. If you are enlisted you can apply for the enlisted to officer program called STA-21. They pay for your schooling, you still get paid for being in the Navy, but your job is to go to school. It is called Green to Gold in the Army and the MECEP program in the Marines. Not sure in the Airforce, but you can apply for the pilot program while going to school for any of the armed forces. There are certain guidelines you must meet, ie age, physicality, sight etc.
