For those who've been to the London Museum of History or looked it up online. Was Henry the 8th over compensating with his armour? I found it a bit hard to believe!

Henry V111 would have been wearing full ceremonial dress armour as the reigning monarch. But soldiers/knights of old wore very heavy and ornate armour to protect themselves from injury by hand to hand combat with heavy metal. If they fell from their horses they couldn't get up again without assistance. -
