Continuous metaphors would be a real nuisance - an affectation - style without substance. An occasional metaphor can be very engaging and can make one see something in a new way.

I don't know anyone who does this..but I think I could become tired of it really rapidly.

I think it really depends on the person who continuously speaks in metaphors and why that same person is speaking in metaphors as well.

I don't annoy myself, but I can see how it'd get annoying.
