it doesn't even get that far into it the on off switch isnt turning everything on the power supply does which didn't really make sense to me. im assuming the processor is the culprit can anyone confirm?
yes you can here it spinning but the power supply is regulating the power its like the motherboard and processor aren't there bios doesn't even come on
All you can do is fiddle, oh and nothing says the new power supply is good.
Try removing and reseating all connectors, pull the RAM and reseat... look around and maybe poke a bit. Make sure you didn't bump anything else loose and hope you discharged static properly.
Have you tried reformatting the hard drive?
My power supply stopped working after I tried to scan with my new color laser printer on. Both heavy power users. I checked and am sure the PSU is bad. I installed a new PSU and everything powers up but I can't get a picture. Tried resetting the BIOS.

My laptop's health monitor says that the fan speed is 66%. Is that too high, and if so, what should I do?

I plugged my computer into a station that was running 230v power. It will no longer turn on of course. I would like to know what will need to be replaced to repair it. I was thinking it would be the whole power supply, am I correct?

Lightning struck near my house last night causing my accidentally plugged in laptop to spark at the place where it was plugged in. the laptop works but refuses to charge. Is this an internal problem or a problem with the power cord?
