What recourse do you want? If you're talking about child support, it can be ordered by the court once paternity is aknowledged or proven. That's your only claim. There's nothing else you can get.

You reap what you sow. You laid with a married man, before he was seperated from his wife. Then thought that you can live with him, have him be father to YOUR children and he would remain faithful to you. And out of all the ironic things, he went right back to where he started (and she foolishly took him back). You are owed nothing. And what makes you think is wife owes you anything? YOU slept with HER husband.

FaerieWhing, thank you for your candor but I was not out looking for a man rather I had my 7 yr daughter at McDonalds. She doesn't have any hair and was telling her teacher she knew how she was going to kill herself, I was having to race home from work b/c my 7yr old little girl was on the roof of our house saying she hated God and was going to jump. I was at my lowest when I met this man and thought, no truly believed God sent him to me as a precious gift. He helped my little girl, we got her off meds, and he saved me emotionally. He gave me strength. He told me he was married, but already in the midst of a divorce, she lived with boyfriend at their beach house and he lived in their home in the country. From their he moved in with us for 5 yrs always having an excuse not to get the divorce yet. Afraid of giving up half of assets, starting over, etc, etc. Wife and 36 yr old daughter told him lies about how I call them, stalk them, etc, of which I never have. 36 yr old is so cold, mean and demanding, she handles his books at his shop and she paid her car payment but did not pay our house pymt for 3 mos $3000 saying they didn't have enough money. She demanded he leave me and go back to her mother b/c her 2 kids were getting bigger so they need a 3 BR home (of which she expected him to buy and pay for when she takes home $2400 mo + $1000 mo child support). His mother lived in Tampa for many many years and his daughter has always lived in Tampa and yet she did not know how to get to her grandmothers house! His mom and brothers/sisters live in mobile homes and are therefore beneath her. I have heard her say so. When her grandmother died, daughter was on a date and the mother, his wife, told him not to bother her on her date. Can you believe?? Wife is worse than daughter and both are coniving. I foolishly got involved b/c of his lies and he left me b/c of theirs. I am a good person with a good heart. Not to mention a stupid fool for falling in love (for actually the very first time) and I was so distraught for my child that I really truly believed God blessed me/us. Now I'm angry at all of them b/c my childrens own father deserted them which caused them all so much pain for so long that this man meant to world to them and now again they have endured this knowledge that they were left again. Now I can only ask for forgiveness and pray one day I can forgive myself.

You have no recourse. You chose the actions, that you took, now, you have to take the consequences. He doesnt owe you or your children anything. God, wouldnt send a married man, to you, that is about the stupidest thing I have ever heard. You liked the fact that he took care of you, whether he was married or not, and you are still trying to get him to do that, SAD!!!!! Frankly, HIS WIFE and THEIR finances, are none of your business.

In the US there is no legal protection for a mistress. The father can be compelled to pay child support for the children, and if he dies while they are still minors, they can collect social security survivor benefits. Contact the Family Court to get a court order for him to pay child support. Be prepared to prove he is the father.
