  • did you do any inspection before the sale or get any kind of warr with the sale?? these things should have been checked out first
  • Most states have specific laws on what must be disclosed at the time of sale. You will need to research those laws as they apply to your state and/or consult an attorney in the local area. A home having asbestos does not mean the sale of such a home is prohibited--it usually is if the asbestos is crumbling and must be contained prior to sale. To me it is a material fact that should have been disclosed prior to the sale. Bad on the owner for not doing so. It could be that the asbestos has been contained and they thought that it was no longer a material fact. A home inspection probably would have turned this up before the sale. Was an inspection done?
  • You need to hire a real estate attorney to review your case. This is very jurisdictionally based, so there's no way for any of us to know what all the rules are in your area.
  • Uh... doesn't the home have to be formally inspected by law before you can purchase it? How did the inspector miss all this? In any case, yeah, you should probably talk to a lawyer.
