No. If the crime is a general statute applicable to the public, then the trial will be in the same court as the general public. A warden cannot sentence a person to a prison sentence. However, there is also a code of rules that apply to only prisoners. A violation of these rules is heard by a Disciplinary Hearing Officer, and a hearing is held. The inmate has the right to present witnesses and evidence, and has the right to assistance by a staff member (but not an attorney). If you are found to have committed a prohibited act, you will be punished by a loss of privileges, but not a longer prison sentence.
