I hate it, as I hate all animal abuse.
-
It's horrific. Some find it beautiful, some even find it 'sexy'. I just feel terribly depressed when I think of it.
-
Its a tradition that follows hundreds af years. While it may seem barbaric, the bulls are slaughtered and sold as regular cuts of meat. The world would be a boring place without tradition. If so lets remove fishing, hunting, sports. Lets remove slaughter houses where a bolt gun is injected into the cattles head. Lets not hunt rabbits or ducks or pheasant. Lets just sit in our lounge and eat kfc where the chokks have died of old age and bore the hell out of each other and lose the word culture from our language.

The same way I feel about soccer. I think it's boring to watch. If they want to make it exciting, and, well fair, they should have ferocious lions in there instead and with the matadors weaponless. That would be entertaining.

I disagree with repeatedly stabbing bulls with swords in front of a crowd, but in the end we've got bigger issues in the world and if that is how they choose to do their thing then whatever. I understand the tradition aspect of it, but gladiator games were tradition as well; You'll never see them come back.

I am totally against bullfighting, it is barbaric and tortuous.
-
Those bullfighters get everything that's coming to them. I don't think bulls would be so pissed all the time not having to do the kind of things they are forced to do.
-
I just think it's mean, and hardly brave and macho to treat an animal like that. I'm not a big fan of hunting, but at least that's going into a natural habitat instead of dragging an animal into the open to have fun with it. I just don't see the appeal. It hardly looks like Theseus slaying the Minotaur if you just stick a frightened animal in the arena with loads of people cheering and shouting.
-
I'm in favor ONLY if the bull picks a fight with me. Otherwise, it cruel.
-
Go bull go!
-
I think if you want to really fight a bull you should just stand their Mano a bullo and fight. Hey Hercules did it. The whole concept is just slaughtering an animal.
-
Some of my fellow humans are disgusting creatures!
-
Don't like it. I love cows so it hurts to think about killing a poor old bull who is probably old getting stabbed through with a sword from a stupid Spainard who couldn't possibly hold a candle to a bulls strength.
-
I think it is so unecessary to torment them. The red flag and all is interesting but not when they put those swords in them. If I went to Spain I am sure I would go but leave before the time of the swords. There must be some history there but I can't stand to see an animal tortured. good question.

Reading most of the answers here tells me few really understand anything about bull fighting. While it may look cruel actually there is not that much pain. The matador has 27 minutes from the time the bull enters the ring until it must be dead. Everything is done with a specific purpose and happens at a particular time. You must know the music being played to know what is happening and when. The matador is given points or taken away points for each move. When the kill is done, the sword must pass through both heart and lung. The moment the bull goes down the nerve is cut in the back of the neck killing the animal instantly if he is not already dead. The meat is usually given to orpahages or other cheratable organizations. Some may be sold or given to restarants in the area. Bloodless bull fights are in a way a sham. The bull is still killed when it is taken out of the ring. He is ring wise and very dangerous to the matators and the others in the ring. These bulls are not just range animals but are specifically bred to be used in the ring. There is really not much difference then animals bred in captivity for their fur or for other reasons. Before you condem bull fights at least do some research and understand what actually is taking place during the fight.

I am Spanish and I HATE bull-fighting. It is a barbaric tradition that should be abolished but there are many economical interests on the way... I am ashamed of this aspect of my country :(
