We have an Australian Shepherd mix, 3 years old. She is very work oriented. Aside from a Kong or stuffed bone, what other "jobs" can we give her? Also, do you have ideas for things to stuff in the Kong besides peanut butter and Kong products?

We had one like this when I was a child. We lived on the farm and he loved to herd the cows and sheep. I can't help you with this.

You could try stuffing the kong with a mixture of tinned or wet dog food and small dog biscuits, then put it in the freezer. It takes them ages to lick all the frozen filling! As for jobs, Aussies do best when they can use their brains, have you tried taking her to obedience classes, or agility or flyball? I do flyball with my aussie and if I leave it more than a couple of weeks I really notice the difference in her behaviour. And sometimes she will actually start doing "obedience" exercises without being asked, she loves it so much!
