well, what other stuff do you like?? it's hard to recommend for someone you don't know. You should try some of the things that are popular right now- like Black Blood Brothers or Saiunkoku or Code Geass when it shows up, then decide for YOURSELF how you like your anime. :)

Well like all things, Anime is about 99% shit content. No joke. However the diamonds are hidden in with the horse shit, heres a few that I enjoyed. Code Geass-Very good, very very good. If you can get over the extremely dopey costume thats worn than you'd enjoy it. Gundam Seed+Gundam Seed Destiny-This has been called The Original Gundam remade with flashier effects, but I disagree. It takes on it's own story line that you will love. starts out slow but speeds up. Death Note-Oh god. This would easily have been a real life movie if it hadn't been so long. About a character who finds a "death note" that will kill anyone who's name is written on it. The main character goes on to try and create a world with no evil by eradicating those he feels are unworthy. Those a few to start with. You could of course watch it on the site it rips from (megaupload.com) but I find that the background is rather annoying on megaupload.

Sailor Moon. It was one of the first animes ever to be made and to be popular outside of Japan. Which says something for the show. Also it has a great love story it as well. But I won't give away much more :) But watch the Japanese subtitled version, it is better than the English dub. (it has more in it, and makes more sense as a result).

If you like fantasy and reverse harlem anime, you should definitely watch Saiunkuki. My all time favourites are Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, and you might want to check out the new series by the same director: Darker Than Black. Saiunkuki is more 'for girls' whereas CB, SC, and DTB are more for mature audiences - it's not sexual, just violent. ^^;

hmmmm...........i like things when a girl is the main character ^^' seeing as ima girl but i LOVE full metal alchemist and i have watched all of sailor moon even though it was in english XD i watched all of Karin...(too much nude in that show! lol) Full moon Osagashite and more just cant remeber them all ^^'................I LOVE SUMOMO! (*not how you spell her name)

Speed Grapher and Desert Punk are two really good anime that aren't very main stream. Trigun, Ghost in the Shell, Afro Samurai, and although ah! my goddess has a lot of romance in the story line, it acually isnt too bad. These are in addition to the previous answers; cowboy bebop, samarai champloo, full metal alchemist, death note, inyuasha (the episodes and the movies). Some good anime movies are castle in the sky, spirited away, princess mononoke. A really short anime that is really silly is flcl. If you like the genre, naruto and bleach are pretty good, and are really long so that you will have something to watch for a while. Bleach is on episode 189 and naruto is over 300 I think.
