  • Per Dr. Dean Edel: There is not study that has confirmed Omega-3 fish oil prevents heart disease. It MAY be beneficial for those who have already had a heart attack to take a supplement, but again, no SUBSTANTIAL data to back that up. So, is it bad to take? Likely not, but if you are considering taking it in order to be pro active about heart health, you are better off eating heart-healthy foods rather than taking a supplement, which is not the same thing.
