Our closest Wal-Mart is about 10 miles away from our place. I can't say that we never shop there. I can say that we only go there as a last resort !

About 4 miles, but I hate that place. It's huge, crowded, and it's a rarity to find an employee who can understand and speak English fluently.

- In English: Excuse Me? Only 900 million people speak English out of almost 7 billion people. I also speak English, I live in the United States, and that is my mother tongue. I have also learned Spanish, and speak that quite often with my Latino friends.
  
  Who are you to tell them to speak english? I honestly understand that if that is the only language you know, but you can't condemn an entire stores workers because they might just have a latin accent. My family in Texas has a hard time understanding me because of my minnesota accent.
  
  The language barrier is a tough frustrating obstacle, but one has to realize that the whole world doesn't speak one language, because God confused the language of mankind when we tried to build the Tower of Babel, had we not done that, this would not even be a debate, because we would all be speaking Hebrew or Aramaic.

  La barrera del idioma es un obstáculo frustrante, difícil, pero uno tiene que darse cuenta de que todo el mundo no habla un idioma, porque Dios confundió el idioma de la humanidad cuando tratamos de construir la Torre de Babel, si no hubiéramos hecho esto, esto ni siquiera un debate, porque todos estaríamos hablando hebreo o arameo.

There's a Target about 3-4 miles away, but the nearest Whale-Mart is over in Valley Stream, which is about a 20 min. drive on the highway.

4 subway stops, change subway lines, 11 more subway stops, then a bus for 10 stops ... or 71 blocks ... if I go east.

- It does sell a lot of stuff cheaper than most stores. The main complaint here is it put's alot of mom and pop operations out of business cuz they can't compete

- It has a great business model and it sells a lot of stuff I buy at cheaper prices. But they have put many small businesses in my area out of business. They're employees never actually know anything and there store is REALLY disorganized. But they might be better in Australia, You never know!!!! (OPTIMISM!!!:)

- Actually, ADSA in Britain is owned by Walmart. So, if you live in Madrid, the closest "Walmart" is only 785 miles (or 1,263 kilometers) away from where you might live.

3 miles or less, it is a Super WalMart and a good place to go for cleaning supplies and things like that...it is always busy there on the rare occaision that I visit.
