I find it much easier. Half the time when I google or yahoo I get stupid results which dont relate to my search and/or advertisements for stupid things.

quick example Question: where is Bjork from? well, hopefully there's someone logged in on this site who can answer this head scratcher. Sure, I already knew she was from iceland, but had i not, I think it would've been fairly simple to go to google and type: "Bjork is from" and Ta Da! Iceland!

People love interaction. it is like hanging up when you get an answering machine because you do not want to talk to an answering machine. Most questions here are not really seeking answers but rather interaction in the form of a question and or answer. People like to be seen and see others reactions. When I am researching something I surf the net then I come here and ask so I don't only get the answers I am looking for but i also get human response which may give me another aspect of my research I have not thought of.

After only 5 days on AB, I've wondered this myself x several. Some questions seem to be highschoolers jammin' to get some homework done! I hadda rely on Classic Comics and Cliff's Notes!

I am addressing your own answer: http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/2549576 Suppose we want to know the answer to the question: "Where is Bjork from?". Many people could be satisfied with the answer "Iceland". However, even if it could be relatively easy to find this out if you have some experience with internet research (and not everyone has this) some people could also find some interest to learn further facts about her origin that are not so easy to find: http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/2550099

Building a knowledge base means that people choose to have others answer a question for them. It may be quite surprising and informative when someone is able to post material you wouldn't have thought of had you just merely Googled it. See, there is no simple path to an answer because it may not be where you think it is. Trusting others to find a path for you may or may not be helpful but it provides another avenue for question searching. All well thought out questions are most welcome.
