It is known that India has spread Buddhism in China. The
word Zen is a variation of Sanskrit word Dyana (meditation).
Taoism speaks of Yin and Yang - the primary female and male
forces of the universe. The two words are variations of
Sanskrit words Yoni (female sex organ) and Linga (male sex
    organ).

Chinese philosophy says that Ch'i is the "air, "breath", or
"gas" that flows round the body, and balances the negative
and positive energies. In Mandarin Chinese, the word Ch'i is
pronounced something like "chee" in English. The Hindu Yoga
philosophy says that Vayu (air) is the balancing element of
the body. Yoga exercises are aimed at controlling Vayu. In
the Pancha Maha Bhuta (Elements of nature) philosophy, air
is Omnidirectional. Ayurveda says that Ayu (life force) is
controlled by Vayu Bhoota (Element Air).

Sanskrit grammar says that velars 'ch', 's', 'y' and 'j' are
replaced for one another in the tongues of people. The
classical example for it is - Yamuna and Jamuna are the
names of the same Indian river.

Hence it can be seen that the word Ch'i is a variation of
the word Ayu used in ancient Hindu texts.
