  • I'm assuming from the category that you are referring to Christ...but since you haven't specified I can't be sure. I think that in general they one one leads his life is more important and meaningful than the manner of their death.
  • Chaskies, you need to be more specific and name the person you're talking about so that people don't have to guess. Remember many on here are not Christian and it's not helpful to assume that everyone is.
  • Christ died for humanity's sins on the cross, and this became the biggest icon and symbol in the entire world, maybe after the dollar symbol. No matter how you look at it, it's pretty important, even if his said living and what he did and said constitutes the whole of Christianity's ideals and general morality, and is what we are taught to remember and apply. I think that the establishing of most forms of Christianity made pretty sure to make everything about Christ important and leave nothing out though, in some way or another. It seems to reflect a lot in our society too...it seems a dead man is always so much more valuable after dying then he was in death, what with the financial aspect of funerals and the magnitude of emotions and memories, superficial or not. If we conditioned ourselves to this through the ever prominent familiarity with Christ for many people, believers or not, it was pretty important, in a lot of ways. But yeah, derailing, sorry. I don't know WHAT was more important, but I'm of the mind that life has a lot more impact then death as far as one's actions and the preservation thereof goes, in most cases.
  • I figured the general ABer would have the capacity to make the inference that this question was regarding Christ. After all, this is the season when many people generally like to meditate on what Jesus' sacrifice means to us as individuals. If this is not the case, just overlook the question and move on. No need to DR, in my opinion.
  • He was born for the sole purpose of dying for our sins. He had to live to show life was worth living and he also had to die to show it has an end. I think many are confused about the entire purpose but it was symbolic mission of our own purpose. We come here as innocent babes and we grow up to be good people, helping others along the way. Just like we should do and many do. He showed the extreme but are we less in our efforts to give all we can to help others is nothing short of a miracle. His death symbolic as well that great suffering can and does occur. Where we fail is seeing the son of God and not the man that he wanted us to see in ourselves are we all not he same as one of Gods very own. He had to have the extreme to stand out as an example but he never placed himself above us. Christ represents each of us and the doubts others have in us. Both his life and death were equally important because without one there can not be the other.
  • Very good question. In my opinion they are equally important. Christ came to teach us by his example how to live our lives in such a way to become closer to him and our Heavenly father. Through his death on the cross a way was prepared for each and every one of us to be saved through his blood but in order for that to happen we must strive to live our lives as perfectly as we can. Yes we are saved from sin through his blood but that doesn't mean we can go out and live immoral lives time and time again and just profess a belief in him and ask forgiveness and we are saved. We must do all we can to avoid temptation to do wrong at all costs only then can our shortcomings be truly forgiven through his life saving blood.
  • His resurrection.
  • His resurrection.
  • His career. I suppose you are talking about Heath Ledger?
