  • Put all of your credit cards in water, and put them in the freezer- that'll keep you from impulsive spending, but you'll still have them for emergencies. Make a budget, and stick to it- if you have to, withdraw (most) of your money from your checking account, and seperate it into various envelopes labeled "food" "clothes" "entertainement", etc when an envelope is empty, that's it for the month!
  • I could not have said it better than "jehan60188", My additional thought is do all that stuff and see if you can have money still in your account at the end of the month, then take ten bucks and reward yourself!
  • Yeah, find out what exactly is going on that has you do this: awareness is the key to solving any inexplicable/problematic behavior. It's much like fixing a malfunctioning machine -- until you understand EXACTLY what is going on, all your efforts to solve the problem are relatively random.   The main tool for awareness is self-observation... learning how to pay careful attention to your own thoughts and feelings so that you can see what is happening. This seems obvious when stated that way, but it's much harder than it sounds, mainly because we don't really LIKE observing ourselves carefully. There's a lot of uncomfortable things which surface that make us want to turn away.   So nobody here knows why you're doing this. I can speculate, and I might accidentally hit some part of the target with that speculation, but it's much more useful if you uncover the cause yourself. Once you understand what's going on exactly, it will be much easier to come up with an effective solution.
  • Have U sought treatment from a Shrink for "Bi-Polar Disorder". This is a Very Common Trait of the BP Personality. It is a Constant Battle among other things for my wife, but Meds do help a lot. Don't be ashamed about this as it is "Genetic" & U were born with it. Be ashamed of not seeking Help knowing U have a Problem. Good luck. John
