Keep it clean, ensure no food or cosmetics get in the piercing, move it around, dress it with clinical saline.

What did your piercer tell you to do? Or are you silly enough to have done it your self?
-
I would use colloidal silver to keep it clean and/or emu oil

I just got my lip pierced on both sides a little over a month ago. The aftercare you're going to need is going to be individual. I used sea-salt soaks for 5-10 minutes combined with Dial handsoap (the regular unscented kind), and mine have healed up very nicely. Just keep yourself clean and don't play with it too much, and you should be fine. Also, a good diet is key in the healing process. Make sure you're getting plenty of vitamin C and Zinc, and don't freak out if it's red for a month or two.

Take it out, unless you actually used an autoclave on all your equipment and are familiar with procedures to prevent cross contamination. Self done piercings are wonderful way to get an infection.
