Recently, I asked people to choose either seeing their family die in a terrorist attack or keep troops in Iraq and nearly everyone preferred to see their families die. How could anyone choose that? Aren't we supposed to put our families first?

To order the troops back doesn't cause terrorist attacks. You can't just state this. But I actually agree with you that the troops should stay, but for a completely different reason. This war was started by the Americans, and whatever the reasons were, Iraq is devastated. It is the duty of the nation to help rebuild and keep order in Iraq, otherwise the country will have chaos. And most of the civilians in Iraq are great people, I know somebody from Bagdad and he lost many innocent relatives in the war.
