  • Do a whois to get the admin contacts and hosting details. Contact the Host and give them details of your concerns. If they're legit, they'll do something about it, if they don't care, well, they don't care and there's not much else you can do.
  • The other problem with the whois idea is that some scammers use spoofing so that their scam-mail appears to come from a legitimate company when it's actually coming from an uknown server somewhere else. (I think it's called 'spoofing' anyway). Therefor you may do a whois and turn up a legitimate company. They may in turn patch their servers so that this cannot happen, however they may not be able to do anything about the actual scam that you got sucked into. If it's an actual website that's trying to suck you into some Multi-level marketing scheme then there's not a whole heck of a lot you can do about it. Anybody has the right to have a website. You may be able to take that company to court, providing you can find their legitimate information, and sue them. Make sure to take proof of their scam ie. reciepts, licensing agreements or whatever.
