  • Most people do not know that even huge search engine players used to be powered by some other company until not long ago. Yahoo, for instance was powered first by Inktomi and afterwards by Google. Yahoo recently launched its own engine. This is the difference between Crawlers Engines and the others. The real engines send "spider-bots" periodically to the Web, while they crawl cyberspace they submit information, which is used by the Searchy Engine and exported to other directories. The "Organic results" (non-paid) then, between the supplier and the buyer are the same. The "Sponsored results" (paid advertising) is different. Just as general information 4 search engines account more than 70% of search traffic: Yahoo, MSN, AskJeeves and Google. The business of buying "search engine results" is of course generate traffic, to enable more businesses (product sales, advertising sales, and so on).
