I was getting ready for work and I had Good Morning America on when they interrupted the show to tell everyone what was happening.

I was sitting in seventh grade math class. I was scared, but I thought a plane had accidently crashed.

I was asleep. My boss at work called me to let me know what was going on, and told me not to bother coming in that day. When I found out what was up, my horrible, selfish first thought was "Oh crap, looks like my parents aren't going on that trip to Ireland this weekend, and I won't be able to throw the house party I was planning." Yes, I'm going directly to hell.

i was in english class, in highschool. someone ran screaming down the hall that "they blew up the pentagon and the world trade centre!!!" my first thought was: "kid's gotta be on crack."

I was getting ready for work while watching "Good Morning America". When the first plane hit, I thought ' What a tragedy.' then while continuing to watch the live coverage the second plane came in to view and struck the second tower. I instantly knew this was no accident. I had to leave for work but listened to AM Talk radio while driving and then at work too. I was away from radio and television when the Pentagon was struck. When I heard, I began to feel sick. Then the plane crashed in Pennsylvania. It was a nightmare. I was shocked when the first tower fell...then the second. I remember watching 24 hour news channels for weeks. One thing I noticed that I will never forget is the absence of any air traffic. The days that all flights were grounded, I noticed a loud silence. I don't live near an airport (probably 15 miles away) but I quickly noticed the lack of planes. Guess I didn't realize how often I heard and saw them. We would stand outside at night and notice the lack of airplanes.

I turned on the TV and when I realized that it wasn't a movie I thought "my job will never be the same again" --and it wasn't...I worked for an airline for 31 years.

I was taking a friend to the DSS building in Maryland. I was standing waiting for her, idly watching television. I saw the first plane hit and did not believe it was real. My mind did not register it. Neither did the other people in the building. We were all saying "it is not real!" Then the second plane hit as we watched on television. There was stone silence punctuated with cusses, "oh my GOD"s, and more. I almost threw up right in that DSS building then grabbed my friend and went home. I did not have a television at the time and was listening to it on the radio. My landord called to see if I was ok, I told her I was and that I was listening on the radio. She told me to meet her halfway between her house and mine and gave me a television.

I was looking out my Office window bored as usual in the direction of the World Trade Center when the first plane hit and all I can remember thinking was oh my God all those poor people and that must have been one stupid pilot. I stepped away for a few miinurtes to take a phone call and when I came back that's when the second plane hit the other tower. I remember thinking at that moment before they even said anything this is no accident we are at war with someone who hates us. I had people passing out right in fornt of me because they had family members woking in the WTC. One girl in my office lost something like 7 or 8 members of her family that morning. I lost a very good friend I knew since H.S. along with her husband. Her kids were instantly orphans and for what. What did we ever do that was so bad that justified them murdering 3000 innocent people.

I was sat with my friend having a smoke, then a news flash came up....we saw the first plane hit and our jaws just dropped, first of all we thought it was a joke (in shock obviously) then we realised it was actually happening, that was it we were glued to the TV for the next 2 days, everything just stopped, i thought straight away that was no accident....what a sad day for all.
