I use Zicam and Comtrex, and make sure I'm getting my sleep... Besides that, I don't stay home.

Get plenty of bed rest, drink a lot of liquids, fruit juices etc. If you aren't feeling better in a couple of days, go see your doctor. You could be getting a flu bug. Good Luck.

Just let it run its course. It's caused by a variety of viruses, but is generally self limiting. Antibiotics are useless, since they aren't anti-viral, and may predispose you to other infections. Replace fluids, to prevent dehydration. Generally people find hot drinks are better since the steam helps to humidify the nasal cavity when you breath it in and it may also sooth the throat. Decongestants may help to help breathing if you have a blocked nose, however you should avoid these if you have high blood pressure as they can exacerbate this.

they say you should feed a cold & sweat out a fever..lots of chicken soup and vitamin c. you can also boil some garlic & onions for a minimun of 10 minutes add honey and lemon to that and you'll be better in no time

Home-made Chicken soup DOES help! So does Vitamin C (take as much as you can without getting digestive distress), Echinacea drops, Zinc Lozenges for the sore throat, a Tussive cough syrup. Best is Hot tea with lemon, honey, and a generous shot of Gin. It will loosen your nasal passages, and help you to forget your misery. Take as needed, for the seven days that a cold usually runs. If you take prescription or over-the-counter medication for the cold, it will shorten the time to about a week.

Eat nothing. Drink water. Use the energy that would be used for digesting for healing. Make a drink with hot water, lemon juice, honey, and a shot of brandy or bourbon, climb in bed and sweat it out.

Plenty of rest and fluids. Chicken soup is pretty good too, my mom always makes it for me when I'm sick.

This is what I do: I take 1000 mgs of Vit 3 times a day. I take a few ibuprofens. I eat very lightly. The most important thing is rest! Rest as much as you can. Your body needs energy to heal and get you feeling better!
