  • Try some Kitchen Bouquet instead of any type of grease.
  • saute the crumbles or vegiburger in a little olive oil, I do this all the time
  • In addition to oil or butter, you might want to experiment with some seasonings...red pepper flakes, oregano, sage, poultry seasoning, rosemary, parsley, etc... maybe even add a little Parmesan cheese?
  • What's your goal here? are you trying to stay away from the use of animal flesh? like you won't have anything to do with it? if not, the next time you fry any pork item, save some of the pork fat(grease), it's the best thing next to sex (great for the heart too!) and use it in your recipe. You are going to have good health or good taste, it's hard to have it both ways.
  • Follow this recipe, then crumble the "sausage" patties in at the end. The vegetable bouillon does the trick. http://www.manyveggierecipes.com/LPMArticle.asp?ID=15
  • Since sausage is mostly pork and the fat in it is pork fat, try using some leftover bacon grease. We save our bacon drippings in the fridge or if we don't have any we fry up a couple of slices and add it to the gravy, too. It adds a fabulous flavor to the gravy. I hate when chicken anything or other artificial kind og things is added. I just want it to taste of the sausage and pork.
  • get morningstar patties, cook them in oil, then add flour and milk (more milk than flour, adjust to ur taste) then stir and add seasoning such as garlic.
