I would rather have a bow and arrow or crossbow. Why would you carry something that would run out of ammo? What kind of planet is it? Am I wearing a space suit? Am I fighting Aliens? Is Spock with me, maybe Ripley. Yeah Spock and Ripley. You can have Luke Skywalker. Oh hey can I bring the green chick from Star Trek too. Add Yoda to my list too.

If I were to go to an unknown planet I would take the ever shooting AK-47, for the simple reason that it will keep firing continuously forever. There are over 100,000,000 AKs in our planet and they seem to be working all the time.
